June-July
Set in the heart of Historic Town Center Park, this popular summer series brings the community together with free live concerts, family-friendly activities, and a variety of local vendors. As one of the area’s signature seasonal events, it spans multiple nights and offers a lively, welcoming atmosphere all summer long.
June-September
Held at the Historic Town Center Park, these events offer live music, dancing, youth activities along with a business expo. Food, beer and wine is available for purchase by local restaurants or food trucks on site. Bring a lawn chair, blanket and enjoy some awesome music!
September 25-27
The Ohana Festival returns to Doheny State Beach for one of Dana Point’s most anticipated events of the year. Founded by Eddie Vedder, the oceanfront festival brings together top musical artists, coastal cuisine, and immersive environmental and storytelling experiences. This year’s lineup features performances from Pearl Jam, Pixies, Tyler Childers, and Alabama Shakes.

Trivia
Mission San Juan Capistrano
Mission San Juan Capistrano was founded in 1776, the same year as the Declaration of Independence. It’s known as the “Jewel of the California Missions.” The Serra Chapel is considered the oldest building in California still in use, and Father Junípero Serra himself celebrated Mass there.
Pop Culture
One of the first films ever shot in Orange County (a 1910 western) was filmed here in San Juan Capistrano. The town is sometimes called the “Birthplace of Orange County” because of the mission’s historic influence.
Return of the Swallows
The city is world-famous for the “Return of the Swallows.” Every year around March 19 (St. Joseph’s Day), cliff swallows migrate thousands of miles from South America back to the mission. The migration became so iconic that a hit song called “When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano” was written in the 1940s. There’s even an annual festival and parade celebrating the swallows’ return.
Train Depot Hidden Gem
San Juan Capistrano’s historic train station is one of the most photographed in Orange County — plus it’s still an active Amtrak and Metrolink stop.
